Do we have contracts with our clients?
Yes. Whether it is a formal engagement agreement or an arrangement or proposal letter, we set out the scope of our work to be performed in writing and ask our clients to approve it before we begin any work.
How are we compensated?
Our services are billed by the project or on an hourly basis. For most of our estate planning and some of our business law and tax services, we will charge a flat fee that is dependent on the work to be done. For our trial law and some of our business law and tax services, we will bill by the hour, in fifteen (15) minute increments. In addition, we require retainers in most matters, whether they are billed by the project or hourly, which may be an advance payment of a portion of a project fee or a deposit to secure future hourly fees.
For mediation services, we require $500 from each party for ½ day, and $750 from each party for a full day; however, for matters involving more than two parties, the fee may be adjusted in a pro rata manner.
What are our billing practices?
We send bills during the first few days of each month, and we ask that they be paid in full by the 15th day of each month. Our bills will indicate the work performed, any expenses incurred, and any balance due.
How can our charges be paid?
We accept checks, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
In addition, we have an account with PayPal.com that allows you to pay us
online (please contact us for more information).
